This pod will absolutely NOT be for everyone; and I can think of some close friends that really won't like it at all. I can also think of some close friends that won't like it, but will give it a listen out of curiosity (and support of me), which makes me happy.
And the reason lots of people won't like this pod, is because (as Lexie and I discuss in the chat) they perhaps can't feel the energetic shift going on. Of if they can, they're choosing to ignore it, which is absolutely fair and their right to do so.
Me, on the other hand, having taken myself out of 'the system' as Lexie calls it, spends a good amount of time now looking at what is going on in the world, connecting dots and just generally questioning 'what on earth going on?'
... And I mean REALLY going on?
Because as I write this blog post, Trump has been in office for a couple of weeks and in today's news is announcing that the US want to take over the Gaza strip.
Wow! Right?
And hearing that news my brain is thinking lots of things, i.e:
Why? To what end?
Will this Trump-Musk toxic masculinity power trip ever end?
Trump and Musk are completely mad!
Is it even possible for the US to do it?
It's surely just a publicity stunt.
However, a part of my brain is also thinking: Hang on though, would it actually help if they did?
... Because the Gaza strip has been the cause of so much religious land war, and so much pain and suffering for so many innocent people, that perhaps it does need to be taken out of the hands of the middle east?
... Which of course, then makes me u-turn and think 'don't be silly, that's crazy talk?!'
But perhaps most importantly, my brain thinks: Either way, none of this should be decided by, or actioned by, men. Men are just too dangerous.
Yes, my brain is a strange place... But don't worry, that thought process tends to last about 15minutes and then I have to get on with the responsibilities of my day-to-day life as a start-up business owner and single mum.
... I have to get back into the system in order to live successfully (depending on what you define success as).
If this pod really isn't for you, and if you're annoyed, then I apologise. I felt the need to even just slightly address a topic that I believe is affecting us all, and affecting our working way of life. And I'm doing that because I care.
I care about us; and about the amount of people, particularly young people, that are taking themselves out of 'the system', or even refusing to enter 'the system', and are therefore feeling very lost and out of place. This number is HUGE and growing every day.
These people simply don't see themselves fitting into 'the way things were' and need change. Real change. But, most of them are too afraid to ask for it, let alone do something about fixing it; so as Lexie says in the chat, it means change it's down to those of us that are willing to do something. Willing to all play our part and do what we can. Even if that part is small.
Hopefully I've at least played a small part - of my part - with this Break Room chat, and from here, who knows.
Chops x
