78: Meet Kim: A highly experienced stockbroker and holistic wealth manager...

Writer: ChopsChops

I know I say this a lot, but Kim's story is great. It is so full of real-world, relatable stuff that lots of us (of a certain 40+ age) will have experienced, and which Kim says and articulates brilliantly.

Generational perceptions and prejudices surrounding money; generational expectations and societal norms passed down; and perhaps most importantly, how all of these thinks fundamentally shape us, our view of the world, and our career paths.

In the chat Kim openly discusses the odd (even negative) relationship she had with money as a young working person, despite the exposure she went on to have with 'wealth' and indeed the daily interactions she had with people who 'have money'.

... And it was only her dad tragically and very suddenly passing that made Kim take a step back and have a long hard look at her life and her view of the world. Which then incurred a complete u-turn career-wise into holistic health and healing, and even included working in a male prison at one point... Which is all VERY different to stockbroking and wealth management?!

More recently, Kim has returned to finance in a way that combines all of that amazing experience, all of those amazing skills, and all of that honest self-reflection, in order to help people - mostly women - with the psychological factors and triggers surrounding money. Kim wants to help people to make the 'right' choices with their money; taking into account everything in their lives, not just their perceived expectations and their perceived societal pressures.

Enjoy.
